‘The Lives of Others’

I finally saw this film over the weekend. A couple of friends raved about it and then it won a BAFTA and an Oscar. It was a very powerful, contained performance by Ulrich Muhe, the now deceased lead actor and the film itself was good… but I wouldn’t go much above that if truth be told. I try to be open to foreign films, without raving about them simply because they are foreign (H is more guarded after I took her to ‘The Seven Samurai’ when we were at QUB having not told her it was black and white, subtitled or over 3  hours long). Worth a watch.
